Review: This is the 5th in the series and the first book I have read by the Author. It can be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel like I had missed big chunks of the story or felt lost. I did feel an overpowering urge to read all the rest in the series before this book. So be warned about that.
I read quite a bit of crime, most of it is American crime books. It was a refreshing change to read a book based in Britain, which is just funny especially as I am British. It was really well paced and you get to go on the ride from the very beginning of the case. You see the slow and sometimes grueling process of gathering information, so you have all the puzzle pieces. Sometimes you forget how much of it just pure legwork. I didn’t find it boring at all just the opposite I found it interesting to see the whole process.
I did not know who the bads guys in the book until the main character knew. Well done. Normally I can guess them at some point, not this time.
One thing why wasn’t the Coroner report gone over? It wasn’t really a key thing for the case but at the same time, it just felt like it was never touched.
