Review: There is a lot of mentions of rape. It is brushed off to a certain point, that is not the Author be insensitive. It just the society that has been built. It has become the norm. The first mention of this I was a little pissed off. Then I started brushing it off simply because that was what was done in this world. I had to let myself go into that frame of mind.
I did first off think that the situation the main character was in was very similar to nowadays in some ways. That very quickly changed with the new elements added, I soon realized the world built was very different indeed. Which kept my interest but at the same time, I didn’t really like the world built. It was uniquely built, I just didn’t like the general attitude of everything.
In a weird way, I did like the book. It was unique and kept you on your toes. At the same time, I didn’t overly enjoy it. That was more based on the society built, not the Author’s style.
(There are a lot of mentions of same-sex interactions. Being gay out-lawed so I wouldn’t really class it as a LGBTQIA book)
