I am no blogging expert. I am learning as I’m going. Some things I fuck up, somethings I pick up. Most things I just wing it. Either way here 1 thing I’ve learnt as a new book blogger part 5;

Indie vs Normal

Indie vs Normal

Indie stands for independently published, just in case you were unaware of the meaning. Anyway onto to the topic. You have to be aware when you accept Indie Author books that you will get a different response to a book published by a company. Now I mean more a big house company than independent publishing houses. Why? Well more people have seen and heard about books from bigger houses. An Indie Author most people won’t even know who the person is or anything about the book. So when people are going through the Reader feed, reading blog posts chances are yours will get a like and no comment because they have no input on that said Author. Which is fair enough, I don’t like commenting on a book review if I don’t know the Author or the book.

Same goes for Instagram and Twitter, you will get more input/feedback from a more well known book than an unknown.

Now I am not saying don’t accept Indie books. Just be aware of what your goal is for your blog. If you are going for bigger and more comments/likes/followers e.g then you need to go more towards hyped up books. I like the unknown of an Indie book, plus I like helping them out.
